Interspersed among three buildings are the exhibits of the North Carolina Transportation Museum, including a train depot, antique automobiles, 25 locomotives and dozens of rail cars. Once the Southern Railway Company's largest steam locomotive repair facility, the 57-acre site in Spencer is now the museum's home. A relaxing narrated 25-minute train ride of the site is offered, as is a ride on the station's turntable.

Exhibits are free. Train Rides: Adults $6; Children 3-12 and Seniors 60+ $5; Children under 3 are free.
